British Press Go Nuts For No Reason!

Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy vote in Paris
The title of this post could apply to virtually any story that runs in the British tabloids (and sometimes non-tabs) these days, but it specifically refers to the coverage Woody Allen's Untitled Summer 2010 film is receiving. You may remember that French First Lady Carla Bruni (pictured right) had been mooted for a small part in the film, a cameo almost. This did not come to fruition, but is now being reported as Woody shunning Bruni and choosing Marion Cotillard at her expense. Yes, because I'm sure they were going for the same role, look out for Oscar-winner Cotillard's cameo...

Anyway, I would recommend reading the Daily Mail's hilarious reporting on it here - which includes some pretty outrageous content claiming that Bruni has been looking tired and drawn recently, and that she has allegedly turned to Botox. They also talk of Bruni's 'humiliation' at Woody's decision. Those inverted commas are theirs, and are proudly used despite no actual sources being found in the article, nor anything remotely resembling a relevant quote. Sacre bleu.
