There are quite a few details out about Woody Allen's new film, titled 'Midnight In Paris', so I thought it would be useful to collate them all into one handy post. I'm nice like that.
Title: Midnight In Paris
Filming Location: Um, Paris
Filming Date: Summer 2010 (the film has previously been referred to on this site as 'Summer 2010 Project'. I'll leave you to figure out why.)
Release Date: Unknown. Likelihood is that it will show at Cannes 2011 (but not in competition), with staggered release throughout the world in the 6 months following.
Cast: Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates and French First Lady Carla Bruni (amongst others...)
Synopsis: Midnight In Paris is said to be a romantic comedy about a young couple travelling to the French capital for work, subsequently falling in love with it and having their lives changed by their journey. Apparently it will also examine the feeling people often have, that another life would be better than their own.
I am now looking forward to it even more than I was because of that last line. Woody is at his best when gently asking questions about life, and making the viewer ponder their morals, actions and behaviour (a la Crimes & Misdemeanours).
